Fitting In
I have always noticed the facial expressions and gestures of individuals in the society context, body language that is trained, delayed, or looped. In the order of modern society , through control of facial expression and gestures, people have obeyed an unspoken ideology . These highly normalized moves became a noticeable symbol and formed the structure of the whole society . From elevators to the street to the subways, these repetitions appear constantly in silence: the body became a carrier of our social ideology , but not an outlet for personal emotions. This sculpture tries to detach these expressions and gestures from their original functions, transforming social gestures into an infinite and unchangeable object.
