Moment Seize Me
This group of photographs is inspired by my reflection on time and self- recording. I layered fragments, gestures, and movements from everyday life into one single photo, making each photo seemly like a second to include a longer flow of time. Each pose and gaze is a remnant of a linear moment, recombined into a non-narrative self-portrait. The “I” in these photos no longer represents a particular event, but the gathering of continuous time and experience. Through the continuity of taking photos and building logic from the existing photos, the photography shows a collision between the linear and the non-linear time, both fixed and fluid. As I started to ignore the existence of the camera, the feeling of life and moment started to emerge, photos changed from just showing into a longer existing perception.
